This morning Etta asked me to walk her to school. So we met at the foot of the stairs and walked together up to her bedroom ....
This morning Etta asked me to walk her to school. So we met at the foot of the stairs and walked together up to her bedroom, commenting along the way at the things we "saw": crocuses poking up out of the dirt, a squirrel running along a fence, the sheet of ice on that puddle over there.
At the door to her bedroom I gave her a hug and told her I'd miss her, and to have a great day at school.
It was oddly satisfying.
